Are you taking day entries? Providing that there are places left then yes. The entry is limited. Please keep your eyes on the event website and/or subscribe to the newsletter which will keep you updated.
What sort of facilities will be available? The event has toilets, showers, camping, parking and bike washing facilities on site. Please make sure that you book your camping spot early as space is limited.
Can I hire a bike at the MTB Centre? Skyline Cycles has a great fleet of hire bikes available. Please get in touch with the guys via http://www.skylinecycles.co.uk/index.html. We will also have a few display and test bikes at the event. Please check the news section and/or the newsletter for updates.
Are there marshals on course? We will have marshals on course which primarily give approaching riders an update of who is ahead of them in the next timing section. By giving the riders an update it will be less of a surprise to have riders in front of you. The marshals are also there to help when help is needed. If you come across anybody being in need please inform the nearest marshal so that they can phone for help.
Do I have to stop when the timed section starts or/and finishes? No you don’t. A few meters before the start of a timed section you will come across a timing marshal who will give you an update of whom is ahead of you in the timed section so that you can either wait a little bit longer before you enter the next section or be at least aware who you might come across.
What happens when someone is in my way or I am in someone’s way? If you are riding up to someone (in particular on the climb) please warn them in advance. If you are the person ‘in the way’ please give the faster rider way immediately so that it doesn’t affect their time. The same goes in the technical and down hill sections. Please respect each other at all times and only overtake when it is safe for everybody involved.
What is happening on Sunday? The event officially comes to an end on Saturday night. We do however encourage people to stay till Sunday and enjoy another ‘non timed’ ride on the trails and maybe even try out one of the many test bikes on offer.
Are there drink stations on course? Yes there are. We will have the main drink and refreshment station out on the top of the 1st climb at Windy point. Depending on the conditions and the weather we will add further stations to the course.
Are the courses and the timed sections marked? You will primarily follow the markers for the White’s Level and the July trail. We will however put extra markers up so that it becomes super clear where you should go. We will also put up signs warning you of the approaching start and finish of a timed section. At the split point of the White’s Level and the July trail we will have marshals pointing you in the right direction.
If you have any further questions which have not been answered here please drop us a mail to ??? so that we can shed some light on your concerns and also put it up on this FAQ page. Thanks!!
